Caroline Gunston is an exciting emerging fine art photographer newly resident at the JAG Art Gallery in Brighton. Her focus is on ways in which we create meaning in our lives and the underlying interconnectedness of our individual experience. This existential approach to photography reveals a timeless, symbolic landscape of thoughts, feelings and dreams that resonate on a very human level.
'Still Standing' captures a small section of Brighton's West Pier - a structure that has received an elemental battering since its inception in 1866. Despite the powerful forces of wind, ocean and fire arranged against it, the structure retains an eternal appeal, changed certainly, yet unbowed and undaunted.
